Federal Skill Trade Program

One of the programs controlled by the Express Entry immigration system is the Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP). The FSTP is a program that allows foreign trade workers with experience in certain trade occupations to come to Canada. It isn't the sole option for talented workers seeking permanent residency in Canada. There are other options for unskilled immigrants to get to Canada, but they will not be through a fast-track scheme like Express Entry.
Requirements
The Federal Skilled Trades Class evaluates applicants on a pass/fail basis, with applicants having to meet the following four requirements:
Have offers of employment in an eligible skilled trade (NOC Skill level B) from one or two Canadian companies for at least one year, OR hold certification of qualification for that trade from a Canadian provincial or territorial regulatory agency;
Provide proof of adequate language skills in one of Canada's two official languages;
Have worked in a skilled trade for 24 months in the last five years after receiving a trade qualification, if applicable;
Be qualified to meet the job offer(s) or trade requirements in Canada, as indicated by the NOC;
Applicants must demonstrate that they have a basic command of the English or French language in all four language abilities: speaking, listening, reading, and writing. To determine proficiency, only test results from a CIC-approved language testing organization will be accepted.
The IELTS for English and the TEF for French are two of the most widely used language tests. In each language ability, applicants must earn the following scores:
