IEC

International Experience Canada (IEC) is a Government of Canada initiative that provides opportunities for 18-35 year-old travellers from around 33 designated countries to work in Canada.

Working Vacation
Participants in the Working Holiday category may be eligible for a one- to two-year open work visa. Participants with open work permits may work for nearly any company in Canada. Certain nations' nationals may be permitted to stay in Canada for a period more or less than one year.

Individuals who qualify for the Working Holiday category include those who:
• do not have a job offer;
• wish to work for many employers in Canada;
• wish to work in multiple locations;
• wish to earn more money in order to travel.

Promising Young Professionals
Citizens of participating nations can earn significant international experience by working for a Canadian firm under the Young Professionals category. If granted, applicants in this category obtain an employer-specific work visa.

Individuals who fall within this group include those who:
• possess a legitimate employment offer in Canada for a salaried position that helps to their professional growth;
• want to remain with the same employer throughout their stay in Canada.
