The British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) is an economic immigration programme run by the Immigration Programs Branch of the British Columbia government.

The programme enables the province to select and nominate foreign workers, international students, and entrepreneurs to assist in meeting the labour market demands of British Columbia, advancing government priorities, and growing the province's economy. If you are nominated, you and your family may apply to the Immigration and Refugee Council of Canada (IRCC) to become a permanent resident of Canada.

If you intend to immigrate to British Columbia, you can do it in one of three ways:
Skills Immigration Stream;
Express Entry British Columbia Stream;
Entrepreneur Immigration.

Skills Immigration
BC PNP Skills Immigration is divided into the following categories:

Skilled Worker Category
Individuals who have obtained an eligible job offer in a skilled occupation fall into this category. Workers in skilled occupations are expected to have several years of experience.

Healthcare Professional Category
Individuals with experience and qualified job offers as physicians, nurses, psychiatric nurses, or allied health professionals may apply under this category. A job offer in one of the 11 qualifying health occupations must be obtained.

International Graduate Category
Individuals who have graduated within the previous three years from an authorised Canadian institution or college are eligible for this group. To be eligible for this subcategory, you must have received a job offer from a BC business.

Express Entry British Columbia
Express Entry BC is aligned with the federal government's Express Entry immigration selection system, providing qualified candidates with expedited processing for both their BC PNP application and, if nominated, their permanent residence application.

The following Skills Immigration categories may be processed through Express Entry British Columbia:
Skilled Worker Category
Health Care Professional Category
International Graduate Category
International Post-Graduate Category

Requirements Minimum:
Must have a valid Express Entry profile with the federal government;
Must possess an Express Entry Job Seeker Validation Code;
Must have accepted an offer of a full-time work (except for the International Post-Graduate Category)
Must have a salary offer that is competitive with British Columbia wage rates (with the exception of the International Post-Graduate Category);
Must be financially self-sufficient (with the exception of the International Post-Graduate Category);
Must fulfil minimal language requirements (with the exception of International Post-Graduate);
Must adhere to extra category-specific restrictions;
Additionally, the employer must be eligible (except for the International Post-Graduate Category).

BC PNP Tech
British Columbia periodically organises technology draws, inviting qualified skilled employees to apply for provincial nominations.
The pilot programme began in 2017 to alleviate the province's labour deficit in the technology sector. The province declared it a permanent programme in June 2021.
This programme is for skilled employees with a job offer in one of 29 qualified occupations in British Columbia. Additionally, the job offer must be for a minimum of one year and have at least 120 calendar days left at the time of application.
